India announced at the United Nations that it will fully fund the operationalisation of a Global ICT Security Cooperation and Capacity-Building Portal under the UN banner. The announcement was made by India's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, during the plenary session of the Global Mechanism on ICTs in the Context of International Security held July 20-24, 2026. The portal aims to bridge the capacity gap between developed and developing countries in ICT security. India's national cyber agency, CERT-In, will provide technical consultancy for the portal's testing and infrastructure development. India also welcomed the establishment of a Dedicated Thematic Group on Cyber Capacity Building within the UN Global Mechanism.
