Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman attended the 50th anniversary ceremony of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) in Manila on July 24, 2026. He reaffirmed Bangladesh's commitment to work with ASEAN and TAC parties to strengthen regional cooperation against emerging threats such as pandemics, climate shocks, cyber incidents, and supply chain disruptions. He proposed joint early warning systems, shared risk assessments, and regional crisis response mechanisms. He also highlighted challenges from AI-enabled cybercrime and misinformation. On the sidelines, he held bilateral meetings with foreign ministers of Chile, Netherlands, Philippines, and Qatar's state minister, discussing trade, investment, energy, water management, legal migration, and circular economy.
