The Pakistan — Government of Punjab, Pakistan, under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has launched the eTransit Punjab App and T-Cash Card to introduce a cashless fare payment system for public transport. Developed by the Pakistan — Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) in collaboration with the Transport Department and the Pakistan — Punjab Masstransit Authority (PMA), the system allows commuters to pay fares digitally via the app or card, eliminating cash and tokens. PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf stated that the initiative aims to enhance efficiency, transparency, and convenience, promoting digital payments and smart governance.
