Telangana to lower election age to 21

India — Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced on July 25, 2026 that the state government will convene a special session of the assembly and legislative council in the first week of August to pass a resolution urging the central government to lower the minimum age for contesting India — Lok Sabha and state assembly elections from 25 to 21 years.
