TETFund urges female architects on housing research

The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria — Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Sonny Echono, called on architects, particularly female professionals, to lead research into locally sourced building materials and affordable housing to address Nigeria's housing deficit and reduce dependence on imported materials. He spoke during a courtesy visit by the Female Architects of Nigeria (FAN) to TETFund headquarters in Abuja. Echono announced that TETFund's National Research Fund now supports research from all sectors, not just tertiary institutions, and that a National Research Fair will be held in November at Eagle Square, Abuja. FAN Chairperson Ene Agada presented Echono with the FAN Award of Excellence and proposed a strategic partnership with TETFund in areas such as applied research, affordable housing, and professional training.
