On July 24, 2026, security personnel at the Nigeria — Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) 330/132kV transmission substation in Bauchi intercepted suspected vandals attempting to remove critical tower members. The suspects fled upon sighting guards. An inspection recovered 12 transmission tower angle irons, a heavy-duty metal measuring scale, and a white pickup truck believed used in the operation. The recovered items and vehicle were handed over to the Nigeria — Railway Division Police Station, Bauchi, for investigation. No equipment was stolen or damaged, and no injuries were recorded.
