The contract win is positive for AECOM, adding to its portfolio of major aviation projects. It signals continued demand for large-scale infrastructure design services, though the financial terms were not disclosed.
AECOM (NYSE:ACM) announced it has been selected by ANA Aeroportos de Portugal S.A., part of Vinci group, to deliver the preliminary design for Portugal — Lisbon Luís de Camões Airport (Luis de Camoes Airport), a planned world-class international hub for Portugal. The new airport will replace the existing Portugal — Lisbon Airport, which has limited expansion potential. The site is located in the municipalities of Benavente and Montijo, partially occupying the Alcochete firing range across the Tagus River from Lisbon. AECOM will lead the project with local Portuguese partners, providing technical, design, and project management services. The project is expected to drive economic growth and tourism.
