The digital platform is expected to improve operational efficiency and reduce waiting times for housing finance, potentially increasing loan disbursement volumes. However, the impact on Oman's banking sector is limited as the initiative is specific to one state-owned bank.
Oman Housing Bank launched its first Digital Waiting List Platform for housing finance during the Real Estate Exhibition at Khareef Salalah 2026. The platform allows citizens to register for housing finance online, eliminating branch visits in the initial stage. The bank also announced processing 1,252 applications from April and May 2026, with a total financing value exceeding OMR 63 million. The launch is part of the bank's digital transformation strategy aligned with Oman Vision 2040.
