Winshear Metals announced positive results from the first metallurgical testwork on nickel-copper-cobalt mineralization from the Rodburn Target at the Portsoy Project in NE United Kingdom — Scotland. The testwork, conducted by Blue Coast Research Limited, demonstrated that conventional flotation methods can produce marketable copper and nickel concentrates. Head assays were 0.82% copper, 1.64% nickel, and 0.11% cobalt. Expected recoveries are 75-80% for copper and 60-65% for nickel. Nickel concentrate grades of 14-16% with over 1% cobalt were produced, considered highly attractive to nickel smelters. Copper concentrate grades of ~25% with low nickel content were also achieved. The results support further optimization testwork as the project advances.
