On July 27, 2026, Seegene Inc., a global molecular diagnostics company based in South Korea, announced a comprehensive syndromic PCR-based testing approach for reproductive tract infections (RTIs) that simultaneously detects sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and human papillomavirus (HPV). The announcement follows the launch of the Global Million Clinical Study (GMCS) on July 8, which aims to generate scientific evidence for a new global standard of PCR testing. Using its STAgora analytics platform, Seegene analyzed approximately 60,000 co-testing results over 42 months, finding STI pathogens in 82% of HPV-positive cases and co-detection in 71% of positive cases. The company plans to present its approach at the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM 2026) conference in Anaheim, California from July 28-30.
