Zedcrest Group, a Nigerian financial services group, has completed the acquisition of Leatherback, a UK-founded global payments and financial technology company. The acquisition follows Zedcrest's initial investment in Leatherback in 2021 and is part of Zedcrest's strategy to build a globally connected financial services ecosystem. Leatherback will retain its London headquarters and management team, operating as an independent subsidiary. The deal strengthens Zedcrest's capabilities in cross-border payments and fintech, and supports Leatherback's expansion into new markets including Nigeria, Canada, and Kenya. Financial terms were not disclosed.
