The hiring strengthens UBS's wealth management presence in the US, particularly in the high-net-worth segment, and signals recovery from previous outflows. It may pressure Bank of America's private banking business in the region.
UBS has hired a four-advisor private wealth team from Bank of America Private Bank in Tampa, Florida. The team, consisting of Jesse Flatt, Lea Ann Drew, Brandon Burns, and Sara Rodriguez, manages approximately $1.3 billion in client assets and brings over 100 years of combined experience serving ultra-high-net-worth families and business owners. They will join UBS's Greater Florida/Gulf Coast Market, reporting to Tampa Bay Senior Market Director Jack Heiss. The hires are part of UBS's strategy to rebuild its US wealth business after a rocky 2025, during which the Americas wealth arm lost close to $6 billion in net assets. In Q1 2026, the unit reported $5.3 billion in net new money and an 80% jump in profit. UBS is also preparing to pilot everyday banking products with US employees and plans to roll out full-service banking to affluent American clients from mid-2027.
