The successful first close signals continued investor appetite for Indian venture capital, particularly in deep-tech and science-led startups. It may boost sentiment for the Indian startup ecosystem and related sectors, though the impact is limited as the fund is relatively small.
Inflexor Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm, announced the first close of its third fund, the Inflexor Technology Discovery Fund, securing approximately ₹400 crore (around $42 million) towards a target corpus of ₹1,250 crore (nearly $131 million). The fund is anchored by the Self-Reliant India (SRI) Fund, HDFC Asset Management Company (HDFC AMC), and HDFC AMC Select AIF FoF, with participation from international institutional investors. Fund III will focus on pre-Series A and Series A investments in science, engineering, and technology startups, with initial cheque sizes of ₹15-45 crore and a planned portfolio of 22-25 companies. The firm has already commenced deployment and expects to announce first investments soon. Inflexor Ventures was founded by Venkat Vallabhaneni, Jatin Desai, and Pratip Mazumdar, and manages about ₹1,300 crore in assets. Its portfolio includes Atomberg Technologies, Bellatrix Aerospace, CloudSEK, CredFlow, Kale Logistics Solutions, PlayShifu, Entropik, and Clickpost.
