India's Index of Industrial Production (IIP) grew 7.3% year-on-year in June 2026, accelerating from a revised 5.0% in May 2026, according to data released by the India — Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. The growth was driven by a 7.8% expansion in manufacturing and a 10.6% surge in electricity and gas supply. Within manufacturing, 19 of 23 industry groups recorded positive growth, led by electrical equipment (34.0%), motor vehicles (17.5%), and food products (10.8%). The Quick Estimate of IIP stood at 123.1, up from 114.7 in June 2025. Capital goods grew 14.2%, intermediate goods 9.3%, and consumer durables 7.7%. The data reflects sustained industrial momentum in the Indian economy.
