On July 28, 2026, a Russian delegation led by Charge d'Affaires Vyacheslav Sentyurin met with Bangladesh Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir in Dhaka. Russia proposed supplying 280,000 metric tonnes of urea fertilizer to Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) through JSC FEC Prodintorg under a government-to-government arrangement at $10 per tonne below current prices. Russia also expressed willingness to export sunflower oil, yellow peas, chickpeas, red lentils, and green lentils. Both sides agreed to strengthen bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
