The funding signals growing investor confidence in e-commerce infrastructure startups in emerging markets, potentially boosting the sector's attractiveness. Fincart's expansion may increase competition in the MENA e-commerce logistics space, impacting incumbents and related service providers.
Egyptian e-commerce technology startup Fincart has raised an oversubscribed $2.8 million seed funding round to accelerate the development of its AI-powered merchant operating system and expand across the Middle East and Africa. The round was co-led by Launch Africa Ventures and Antler MENAP, with participation from Yango Ventures, Five35 Ventures, Bluestream Capital, Hi2 Global, Kalahari Copper Limited, and other regional investors. Founded in 2023 by Mostafa Masry and Nihal Ali, Fincart has evolved from a last-mile logistics platform into an AI-powered operating system for e-commerce merchants, integrating shipping, cash-on-delivery reconciliation, revenue-based financing, and customer retention tools. The platform integrates with more than 40 courier companies across Africa and serves over 450 merchants, having processed nearly $20 million in merchandise value. The funding will support product development, team expansion, and market expansion beginning in 2027. The round follows Fincart's pre-seed round in early 2025 led by Plus VC.
