The rapid growth of TradFi trading on crypto exchanges signals a structural shift in asset trading, potentially increasing competition for traditional brokerages and exchanges. Crypto exchanges like MEXC and Binance are expanding their multi-asset offerings, which could drive further volume growth and user migration.
MEXC, in collaboration with CoinGecko, released a report showing that traditional financial asset trading on centralized crypto exchanges surged from $3.46 billion in January 2025 to $393.15 billion in June 2026, a 100-fold increase. Perpetual futures accounted for 98.5% of June volume. U.S. stocks overtook precious metals as the largest TradFi category, with volume rising 337.4% month-over-month to $189.84 billion. MEXC's monthly TradFi volume grew 59-fold to $91.12 billion, ranking second among six exchanges. The report also found that 83.3% of surveyed users plan to increase TradFi trading on crypto exchanges.
