Bloomberg L.P. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Canoe Intelligence, an AI-powered platform that automates the collection, processing, and delivery of private markets data. The acquisition, announced on July 29, 2026, expands Bloomberg's ability to provide integrated data, analytics, and workflow tools across public and private investments. Canoe processes over 1.5 million documents monthly across more than 44,000 funds, serving over 500 institutional clients representing over $11 trillion in assets under service. Bloomberg plans to combine Canoe's private fund data infrastructure with its Terminal, portfolio analytics, enterprise data, and AI products, including its ASKB conversational interface. The deal is subject to regulatory approval; financial terms were not disclosed. Canoe's investors include Blackstone, Carlyle, Eight Roads Ventures, F-Prime, Goldman Sachs, Hamilton Lane, and Nasdaq. Jefferies served as financial advisor and Cooley as legal advisor.
