This is a local hospitality investment with minimal direct impact on financial markets. It may slightly boost tourism in Armagh and support local employment, but the scale is too small to affect broader market indices.
McKeever Hotels announced a £600,000 investment to create The Meridian, a cocktail bar at Armagh City Hotel in Northern Ireland. The bar is inspired by Armagh's heritage in astronomy and navigation, designed by Drinksology (known for The Dead Rabbit in New York and Guinness Storehouse). McCue Fit-Out is the contractor. The project is part of a wider £4 million investment to restore the hotel's four-star status. The Meridian is expected to open in early winter 2026, with capacity for 120 guests, including a private dining area and The Constellation Room for tastings. Greg Buda, former director of education at The Dead Rabbit, is developing the cocktail menu.
