The Nigeria — Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the India — Financial Intelligence Unit – India (NFIU) have pledged to strengthen collaboration in combating money laundering, terrorism financing, and other financial crimes. This commitment was made during a visit by NFIU Director and CEO Hafsat Baba to Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu at Force Headquarters in Abuja. The meeting focused on enhancing intelligence sharing, joint operations, and institutional cooperation ahead of Nigeria's 2027 Mutual Evaluation, which will assess the effectiveness of police use of NFIU financial intelligence. Bakari commended Disu for approving a joint stock-taking exercise and called for expanded AML/CFT awareness programs across police commands. Disu urged sustained training for police personnel and continuous access to actionable financial intelligence and modern investigative tools. Both agencies reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding national security and strengthening public confidence in law enforcement.
