Intel has provided access to its Atom processor technology to a new startup, RosaicLabs Inc., in a rare move for the U.S. chipmaker. Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan and Rosaic's CEO Amarjit Gill are longtime co-investors, having previously invested together in Qualcomm — Nuvia and worked together at Rivos. Rosaic's founding team includes veterans from Rivos, and the startup filed its first Delaware incorporation documents in May. Intel aims to ship register-transfer level code for the Atom tech to Rosaic, allowing the startup to build custom designs. Rosaic can seek a seed funding round of $10 million according to an amended filing.
