Arboreal Bioinnovations, an India-based specialty food and nutraceutical ingredients technology company, announced the successful close of a Rs 230 crore (over $24 million) Series A funding round. The round was co-led by EAAA, the alternatives arm of Edelweiss Financial Services, and Omnivore, with participation from existing investor Rainmatter. The company plans to use the capital to expand manufacturing capacity, strengthen research and development, and accelerate commercialization of its next-generation functional ingredients. Arboreal has developed proprietary ingredients across next-generation proteins, cocoa-based ingredients, natural zero-calorie sweeteners, and functional fibers. The company's portfolio has supported over 300 product launches across more than 1,100 consumer brands and nutraceutical manufacturers in the past 18 months. This funding round is one of the largest Series A fundraises in India's specialty food ingredients sector and represents the first investment from EAAA's Discovery Fund II.
