The launch positions Lighthouse Canton to capture a share of the large and underserved NRI wealth management market, potentially increasing its assets under management and revenue. It may intensify competition among wealth managers targeting NRIs, but the immediate market impact is limited as the platform is new and client acquisition will take time.
Lighthouse Canton, a Singapore-headquartered global investment institution with over $6 billion in assets under management, launched Global Indian, a dedicated wealth management platform for non-resident Indians (NRIs) and overseas investors with cross-border financial affairs. The platform integrates Lighthouse Canton's regulated entities in India, India — GIFT City, Singapore, Dubai, and the United Kingdom into a single advisory offering, providing consolidated multi-jurisdictional reporting, cross-border wealth structuring, and unified management of tax and regulatory obligations. The launch was accompanied by the introduction of a Systematic Global Equities Fund domiciled in India — GIFT City, offering Indian resident investors a tax-efficient, regulated avenue to participate in global equity markets through the IFSCA framework. The platform is supported by Keenai, Lighthouse Canton's proprietary wealth technology platform. The initiative addresses the fragmentation of NRI wealth, which is estimated at over $164 billion in deposits and $135 billion in annual remittances, by providing a single point of accountability for globally mobile families. The platform is led by Sumegh Bhatia, with leadership from Sunil Garg, Abhay Laijawala, Sanket Sinha, Prashant Tandon, and Gurjeet Sohi.
