The breach may erode customer trust and brand reputation for Love, Bonito, potentially impacting sales and customer loyalty. Regulatory scrutiny and potential fines could add financial costs, though the company's private status limits direct stock market impact.
Singapore-based fashion retailer Love, Bonito disclosed a data security incident on July 30, 2026, after identifying a security vulnerability on its website on July 26 that allowed unauthorized access to some customers' account information. The company resolved the vulnerability the same day and has since strengthened its internal safeguards. Potentially exposed data includes customers' names, birth dates, email addresses, shipping addresses, phone numbers, and order history. Partial payment information, such as card type, last four digits, and expiry dates, may also have been affected, but full credit card details were not exposed as they are processed and held by a third-party payment processor. Love, Bonito notified the relevant data protection authority and reported the matter to law enforcement. Singapore's Singapore — Personal Data Protection Commission is investigating the incident. The company advised customers to watch for phishing attempts and monitor their payment card activity. This incident follows a 2019 data breach for which Love, Bonito was fined S$24,000 in 2022.
