APSIC and Schuelke launch hygiene award
Analysis based on 6 articles · First reported Jul 31, 2026 · Last updated Aug 01, 2026
The launch is a niche healthcare initiative with minimal direct market impact. It may modestly enhance Schuelke's brand and market position in infection prevention, but it is unlikely to move broader markets.
The Asia Pacific Society of Infection Control (APSIC), in collaboration with Schuelke, launched the APSIC Environment Hygiene Excellence Award at the APSIC 2026 Congress in Malaysia. The programme aims to recognise hospitals demonstrating excellence in environmental hygiene and infection prevention across the Asia Pacific region. Participating hospitals will be evaluated using APSIC-developed guidelines and audit criteria, with assessments conducted by an independent expert panel. Shortlisted hospitals will receive educational support, and finalists will undergo on-site audits. Winners will be honoured at the APSIC 2028 Congress. The initiative is one of the first coordinated regional efforts to standardise and recognise environmental hygiene excellence in healthcare.
