The acquisition is expected to modestly strengthen Tyler Technologies' competitive position in the public safety software market, potentially supporting revenue growth and market share expansion. The deal is unlikely to have a significant immediate impact on Tyler's stock price, but it aligns with the company's cloud-first strategy and may enhance long-term growth prospects.

Tyler Technologies, a leading provider of public-sector software, has completed its acquisition of CODY Systems, a privately held, woman-owned family business specializing in data management, integration, and information-sharing tools for law enforcement and public safety agencies. The deal adds CODY's cloud-native records management platform Pathfinder RMS and its COBRAnet data-sharing platform to Tyler's public safety portfolio. Financial terms were not disclosed. CODY, founded in 1979 and headquartered in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, serves more than 300 clients across 10 states. Its management and staff will join Tyler. The acquisition strengthens Tyler's position in the small to midsize public safety market, supports faster implementations, improves interoperability, and enhances access to real-time data. This move follows Tyler's recent $212.5 million acquisition of For the Record and the creation of new leadership roles, including a chief AI officer. Tyler also reported an 8.2% increase in Q2 revenue to $645.1 million and a nearly 35% spike in free cash flow to $118.5 million, partly due to federal tax policy.
