The facility is expected to improve access to long-term foreign capital for Nigerian businesses, potentially boosting industrial expansion and technology adoption. This could enhance the competitiveness of Nigeria's private sector and attract further foreign investment, positively impacting the Nigerian economy and related industries.
The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has opened applications for its $150 million Offshore Expansion Facility, a financing initiative developed in partnership with Germany's Oddo BHF SE. The facility aims to provide Nigerian businesses with long-term, single-digit interest capital for expansion, modernization, and technology acquisition. Applications are being accepted through a dedicated digital portal unveiled during the Infrastructure Conference (INFRACON) 2026 held at the AFREXIM Tower in Abuja. The facility targets priority sectors including manufacturing (excluding defence), agro-allied processing, energy, logistics, mineral beneficiation, and transportation, with 20% reserved for the digital economy and ICT sector. Eligible companies can access a minimum of $10 million with a repayment tenure of at least 7.5 years, and must allocate 35-50% of the financing to procure European goods and services. Applicants must demonstrate financial viability, provide three years of audited financial statements, comply with ESG standards, and be verified members of recognized private sector associations. The initiative is expected to strengthen industrial capacity, improve technology adoption, and attract foreign investment into Nigeria's economy.
