The 2026 World Dairy Industry Conference, hosted by Yili Group, took place in China — Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, from August 1-2, 2026. The event gathered leaders from international industry associations, academicians, and executives from the global dairy value chain. During the opening ceremony, the International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST) officially designated China — Hohhot as the World Dairy Capital. Yili Group's Chairman and President, Pan Gang, delivered a keynote speech outlining the company's strategic vision for a sustainable global dairy ecosystem. The conference also saw the launch of the China (Global) Dairy Data Intelligent Hub and the Global Dairy High-Quality Datasets Factory, as well as the unveiling of the Top 10 Innovation Achievements of 2026 by the China National Technology Innovation Center for Dairy (NTICD). A separate Sustainability Forum, also hosted by Yili, focused on post-2030 sustainable development, with participation from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and other international bodies. Yili highlighted its dual carbon and water footprint approach and its leadership in establishing the Zero Carbon Alliance and Low Water Footprint Initiative Alliance, as well as collaborations with Tencent and Lenovo through the Sustainable Social Value Collaborative.
