BioLargo AEC passes two million gallons PFAS treatment

BioLargo, Inc. announced that its patented Aqueous Electrostatic Concentrator (AEC) has treated over two million gallons of PFAS-contaminated water in more than six months of continuous commercial operation at the municipal drinking water facility in Lake Stockholm, New Jersey. The system, installed in January 2026, consistently removes PFAS to levels below United States — New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) and U.S. EPA standards, while producing less waste than conventional carbon filtration. Both NJDEP and the U.S. EPA are monitoring the installation under a 12-month program. The Lake Stockholm site serves as a commercial reference for potential customers. BioLargo also highlighted its memorandum of understanding with Aquatech International to expand AEC deployment beyond municipal drinking water into industrial wastewater, landfill leachate, and groundwater. The company plans to release third-party testing data as it becomes available.
