The launch of ANUGYAN signals growing private participation and workforce development in India's civil nuclear sector, potentially benefiting companies involved in nuclear engineering, equipment manufacturing, and EPC services. It may also enhance the reputation of IIT Hyderabad and Crimson Energy Experts as leaders in nuclear education, attracting talent and investment to the sector.

Education Nuclear Power Engineering Services

The IIT Hyderabad (IITH), in collaboration with Crimson Energy Experts Private Limited (CEEPL), launched ANUGYAN - Nuclear Technology Orientation Programme (NTOP) on August 3, 2026. This is India's first industry-academia programme dedicated to preparing engineers and industry professionals for the country's expanding civil nuclear energy sector. The three-month fully residential programme combines academic instruction with practical exposure from senior nuclear professionals. The curriculum covers reactor physics, thermal hydraulics, radiation shielding, Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), nuclear safety, quality assurance, engineering design, AERB regulatory compliance, and simulator-based training. The programme aims to build a skilled workforce to support India's goal of increasing nuclear power generation capacity from about 8.8 GWe to 100 GWe by 2047. It also builds on a Memorandum of Understanding signed by IITH, Dassault Systèmes, and CEEPL during Bharat Innovate 2026 in Nice, France, to establish the Centre of Design Excellence in Nuclear Engineering (CODENE). The inaugural batch commenced on August 3, 2026, with participants from engineering institutions, public sector organizations, and industries across India. The programme is expected to strengthen India's nuclear engineering ecosystem and support the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
