Dharavi Redevelopment Green Riverfront Plan

The Dharavi Redevelopment Project (DRP), implemented by Adani Navbharat Developers Private Limited (ANDPL), a special purpose vehicle with the India — Government of Maharashtra and the Adani Group as shareholders, announced a green-blue network centered on the rejuvenation of the Mithi_River. The plan includes rejuvenating around 40,000 trees within Dharavi and planting nearly 200,000 compensatory trees across the India — Mumbai Metropolitan Region. A 3.3-km public promenade along the river will feature native vegetation, permeable paving, and cultural spaces. Environmental consultancy Terracon has been appointed to manage plantation and maintenance for five years, with costs borne by ANDPL. The initiative aims to improve air quality, reduce urban heat, and enhance biodiversity.
