Visa Inc. announced a definitive agreement to acquire BioCatch, a leading provider of behavioral-first fraud intelligence, from funds advised by Permira and other shareholders for $2.4 billion in cash. The acquisition is expected to close by the end of Visa's fiscal second quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals. BioCatch uses AI and machine learning to analyze behavioral, device, and network signals to detect fraud in real time, protecting over 760 million users across 1.8 billion devices and serving more than 350 banking clients in 21 countries.
