The Nigeria — Kogi State Government is constructing the Nigeria — Lokoja Ultra Modern Market, a 25-hectare trading hub in Nigeria — Lokoja, Nigeria. The project, a flagship of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo's administration, is part of the Urban Renewal Agenda to modernize the state capital. It will consolidate traders from seven existing markets, including the outdated International Market at Nataco, and feature modern facilities such as lock-up shops, technology hubs, banking services, a clinic, warehouses, and parking. Officials expect the market to boost commerce, create thousands of jobs, strengthen SMEs, and increase internally generated revenue. Commissioner Kingsley Fanwo highlighted Kogi's central location as a strategic advantage, positioning the market as a national commercial hub. The project is slated for completion next year, with traders relocating from 2027. The government also credited President Bola Tinubu's economic policies for enabling such infrastructure investments.
