The hiring signals Citi's commitment to strengthening its technology investment banking franchise, which could enhance its competitive position in advisory deals. The move is unlikely to have a significant immediate impact on Citi's stock price, but it may be viewed positively as part of its strategic growth.
Citigroup has hired Rohan Sen from Bank of America to lead coverage of the technology services sector, as part of its ongoing expansion of its technology investment banking franchise. Sen, who spent 11 years at Bank of America as a managing director in technology investment banking, will be based in New York and report to global co-heads of technology investment banking Pankaj Goel and Mark Keene. The appointment was confirmed by a Citi spokesperson. This hire follows a series of senior technology banking hires by Citi, including five managing directors in July from Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and UBS, and the earlier appointment of Anand Govind. The expansion is part of Citi's broader strategy to compete for a larger share of advisory work in the technology sector.
