The launch of the BG2B is expected to strengthen Silicon Labs' competitive position in the low-power wireless IoT market, potentially boosting demand for its products and positively impacting its revenue outlook. The product's advanced features and power efficiency may also influence the broader IoT semiconductor market, as competitors may need to respond to maintain market share.

On August 4, 2026, Silicon Labs announced the BG2B, its next Series 2 Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) wireless SoC. The BG2B is positioned as the company's lowest-power Bluetooth LE device, featuring a dual-output DC-DC power architecture and multi-core design that reduces MCU active current by 14-15%, lowers Bluetooth receive current, and achieves 1.1 µA EM2 sleep current with RAM retention. It integrates advanced Bluetooth Channel Sounding capabilities (Mode 3, NADM, Inline PCT) designed to meet Apple and Google specifications, along with Secure Vault High security, CAN-FD, LED drivers, dual ADCs, and other peripherals. The SoC targets applications such as secure ranging, asset tracking, electronic shelf labels, smart home, industrial monitoring, and vehicle diagnostics. BG2B is available through an early customer engagement program, with initial production hardware planned for 2027. The announcement was made by Daniel Cooley, SVP and CTO of Silicon Labs.
