The acquisition strengthens Bending Spoons' enterprise software portfolio and signals continued aggressive expansion, likely supporting its stock price. Airtable's private shareholders receive a substantial cash payout, while the deal may increase competition in the enterprise workflow software market.
Bending Spoons, an Italian technology company listed on the Nasdaq, has agreed to acquire Airtable, a U.S. enterprise workflow software firm, in an all-cash deal valued at $1.285 billion. The transaction, announced on August 4, 2026, marks Bending Spoons' first acquisition since its Nasdaq debut on July 1, 2026. Airtable, founded in 2013 and headquartered in San Francisco, offers a platform that combines spreadsheet and database capabilities, enabling companies to build applications and manage workflows without coding. Including Airtable's net cash position, the deal implies an equity value of about $2.25 billion. The acquisition is expected to close by the end of the year, subject to regulatory approvals. This deal follows Bending Spoons' earlier acquisitions this year of Verizon Communications — AOL and Eventbrite, continuing its aggressive expansion strategy. Bending Spoons shares closed at $36.22 on Monday, above their IPO price of $29.
