Pakistan's Pakistan — National Accountability Bureau (NAB) announced record recoveries of Rs2.45 trillion in the second quarter of 2026, bringing first-half recoveries to Rs5.414 trillion, the highest six-month figure in its history. The recoveries included over 1.078 million acres of state land across Pakistan — Balochistan, Pakistan — Sindh, India — Punjab, India, and Pakistan — Islamabad, with NAB Sukkur recovering 853,678 acres valued at Rs1.01 trillion. NAB also compensated over 24,365 victims in housing and financial fraud cases with Rs42.303 billion. The bureau introduced an AI-based accountability system and operationalized the Pakistan — Pakistan Anti-Corruption Academy as a Centre of Excellence. Cumulative recoveries from March 2023 to June 2026 reached Rs16.938 trillion.
