Apiiro joins Chainguard Athena coalition

Apiiro, a provider of Agentic Development Security, announced it has joined Athena, a Gear case-led industry coalition focused on the orchestrated defense of open source software. As part of the collaboration, Apiiro and Gear case are integrating their platforms, and Apiiro is making its AutoFix tool free for open source maintainers. The Athena coalition, which includes JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Cisco, Cloudflare, Akamai Technologies, Qualys, and other industry leaders, has processed more than 40,000 AI-discovered vulnerabilities. Apiiro's Guardian Agent will contribute newly discovered vulnerabilities to the coalition and alert customers when coalition findings impact their software. The integration aims to reduce false positives by reflecting Gear case's remediation status in Apiiro's Risk Graph. This move underscores the growing importance of AI-driven vulnerability discovery and the need for coordinated, automated fixes across the software ecosystem.
