The Community Security Trust (CST) reported a 21% increase in antisemitic incidents in the United Kingdom during the first half of 2026, reaching 1,926 incidents, the second-highest total on record for that period. Assaults rose 82% to 135, school incidents jumped 59% to 178, and synagogue-related incidents increased 31%. Notable attacks included the stabbing of two Jewish men in Golders Green on April 29 and a series of arson attacks on synagogues and Jewish properties, some claimed by the Iran-linked group Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiyya (HAYI). The UK government sanctioned HAYI in July and accused Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Qods Force of involvement. The rise is attributed to the ongoing US-Israel war with Iran and the aftermath of the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack. Government officials, including Policing Minister Sarah Jones, condemned the rise and announced £250 million in funding to protect Jewish communities.
