The acquisition strengthens MondeVita's position in the luxury fashion sector, combining manufacturing with brand development and retail, potentially enhancing its competitiveness. It reflects ongoing consolidation in Italian fashion, which may attract investor attention to the sector and signal growth opportunities for luxury brands.
MondeVita, a luxury holding backed by Mondevo Group, acquired a strategic majority stake in Underscore District, the Milan-based brand accelerator behind Luca Magliano, GR10K, and WOK Store. This is the second step in MondeVita's plan to build an integrated Italian luxury platform, following its earlier acquisition of menswear manufacturer Raffaele Caruso S.p.A. The deal adds brand development, retail, and digital commerce capabilities to MondeVita's existing manufacturing strength. Financial terms were not disclosed. Underscore District, founded in 2022 by Edoardo Di Luzio, generated over 7 million euros in sales in 2025 across more than 150 retailers. The transaction includes Luca Magliano, a label that won the LVMH Karl Lagerfeld Prize in 2023, as well as GR10K and WOK Store. Edoardo Di Luzio will remain CEO of Underscore District and take on a strategic role within MondeVita. The acquisition is part of a broader consolidation wave in Italian fashion, with MondeVita planning further acquisitions and partnerships.
