Optro Report on Agentic AI Governance

Optoro, an AI-powered GRC Intelligence platform, released a report titled 'When AI leaves the chat and enters the workflow' on August 5, 2026. The report highlights the governance challenges enterprises face as they adopt autonomous AI agents in core workflows. Key findings include that while 58% of leaders believe their governance controls keep pace with AI adoption, only 18% have active risk mitigations. In the past 12 months, 40% of organizations reported inaccurate AI outputs, 27% reported data breaches, and 26% reported regulatory action tied to AI use. Nearly two-thirds of organizations experienced an AI agent-related incident. The report emphasizes the need for redesigning accountability frameworks to govern autonomous systems effectively. Optoro's GM of AI Governance, Guru Sethupathy, and Mark Taylor of Yum! Brands commented on the importance of proactive governance. The report is based on four surveys conducted between February 2025 and May 2026 with audit, risk, compliance, and governance professionals.
