PacBio announced the upcoming availability of SPRQ-Nx chemistry and a software update for its Vega benchtop sequencing system. The new chemistry increases HiFi data output from 60 Gb to 90 Gb per run, lowers the U.S. list price per run from $1,100 to $995, and reduces cost per gigabase by approximately 40%. The software update introduces two-hour and four-hour sequencing runs, adds a 5hmC caller and improved 5mC and 6mA callers, and includes user login and audit-tracking features to support 21 CFR Part 11 compliance. DNA input requirements are reduced from 2 µg to as low as 500 ng, and the higher yield enables multiplexing up to 96 samples per run. PacBio plans to ship the chemistry and make the software available by the end of the month.
