The expansion strengthens Kinetic Technologies's competitive position in the rural broadband market, potentially increasing its customer base and revenue. It also reflects continued investment in fiber infrastructure, which may positively impact Uniti Group's stock as it demonstrates growth and network expansion.
Kinetic Technologies, a business unit of Uniti Group, announced a major broadband expansion in United States — North Carolina, delivering multi-gig fiber internet to an additional 16,000 homes across more than 40 communities in Q2 2026. This brings the total number of homes and businesses with access to Kinetic Technologies's fiber network in the state to over 201,000. The expansion was partly supported by funds awarded to the State of United States — North Carolina by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Kinetic Technologies also highlighted its partnerships with Google — YouTube, AT&T, and Eero (an Amazon (company) company) to offer bundled services. The company reported adding 141,000 total fiber locations across its 18-state footprint in Q2, and has approximately 11.7 million fiber strand miles and 2.1 million homes passed to date. Kinetic Technologies was recently named CNET's Best Rural Fiber Internet Provider in 2026 and Telecommunications Company of the Year.
