The acquisition is expected to strengthen P&F's structural heart portfolio and accelerate development of the AngelValve platform, potentially enhancing its competitive position in the transcatheter heart valve market. While financial terms were undisclosed, the deal may positively impact P&F's growth prospects and market sentiment, though the private nature of both companies limits direct market reaction.
On August 5, 2026, P&F Products & Features GmbH (P&F), a Vienna-based medical technology company, announced the acquisition of AVVie GmbH, a developer of the AngelValve Augmentation System, a transcatheter platform for treating mitral regurgitation. The acquisition combines AVVie's R&D and intellectual property with P&F's global development, regulatory, manufacturing, and commercialization capabilities. Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal aims to address the significant unmet need in mitral valve disease treatment, as only about 5% of the over 13 million patients in Europe and the United States with moderate to severe mitral regurgitation currently receive treatment. P&F's CEO Katharina Kiss and COO Siegfried Einhellig emphasized the strategic importance of the acquisition in advancing structural heart therapies and strengthening P&F's portfolio.
