Dagogo attacks Rainbow Coalition ahead 2027

Farah Dagogo, the Nigeria — African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate for Nigeria — Rivers State, held a strategic stakeholder consultation meeting where he sharply criticized the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, a political alliance led by Nyesom Wike, accusing it of causing stagnation in the state. He vowed to challenge the coalition in the 2027 governorship election, describing it as a 'chain of bondage' and promising to lead a movement for the 'liberation' of Nigeria — Rivers State. Dagogo also disputed claims crediting President Bola Tinubu solely for the completion of the Nigeria — Bodo-Bonny Road, asserting that the project was about 95% complete before the current administration took office and that its history spans decades of advocacy by traditional rulers, community leaders, and successive federal governments. He detailed the project's origins in the 1950s, its approval under Yakubu Gowon, and its revival through Nigeria LNG's tax-credit funding under Muhammadu Buhari. Dagogo also alleged that the Nigeria — Rivers State Government attempted to obstruct the 2017 groundbreaking ceremony by preventing the use of public school fields. He outlined his campaign promises, including free education, improved healthcare, security, and allocating five percent of the state budget to youth entrepreneurship.
