On August 5, 2026, India — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini met with a World Bank Group delegation in Chandigarh to discuss integrating Artificial Intelligence, digital governance, skill development, and data-driven administration into state services. The World Bank Group informed that the AI Sandbox, developed jointly with the India — Haryana government, will be showcased at the Korea Digital Summit in October 2026. Saini highlighted the Parivar Pehchan Patra (Family ID) initiative and announced plans for PPP 2.0, a Data Exchange Policy, and a Data Lake. He urged the World Bank Group to expedite the India — Haryana AI and Development Project, including an AI Gurukul for youth skills, and proposed a dedicated AI model for India — Haryana. He also requested cooperation on an Air Quality Decision Support System. Around 250 companies and startups participated in a recent Innovation Challenge, with innovations to be implemented across departments. The meeting was attended by senior officials including Rajesh Khullar, Arun Gupta, J. Ganesan, and World Bank Group Regional Director Mahesh Uttamchandani.
