Pakistan kills 12 terrorists in Balochistan

On August 5-6, 2026, Pakistan's security forces conducted two intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Pakistan — Balochistan's Washuk and Mastung districts, killing 12 terrorists affiliated with the Indian proxy group Fitna Al Hindustan. The operations were part of the ongoing Rad-ul-Fitna-3 counterterrorism campaign. In Washuk, six militants were killed on August 5, and in Mastung, six more were killed on August 6, with a terrorist hideout also destroyed. The military's media wing, Pakistan — Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), confirmed the operations and reiterated Pakistan's commitment under the Azm-e-Istehkam strategy to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism. These operations follow a similar IBO in Khuzdar district last week that killed four terrorists and destroyed two vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices. Pakistan has seen a rise in terrorist attacks, particularly in Pakistan — Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan — Balochistan, since the Taliban's return to power in Afghanistan in 2021. Reports from Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies and Center for Research and Security Studies indicate a sharp increase in violence in these provinces, with Pakistan — Balochistan recording 71 attacks in May 2026, a 109% increase from April.
