AT&T announced on August 6, 2026 that it has selected Ericsson to supply 600 MHz dual-band radios to deploy spectrum acquired from EchoStar. The 600 MHz spectrum, which travels farther and penetrates buildings better than higher frequencies, will improve coverage, capacity, and reliability for AT&T's wireless customers. AT&T is more than 60% through its network modernization, and with Ericsson's equipment, customers in upgraded areas see up to 2x faster speeds, a 10% reduction in dropped calls, and up to 70% fewer slow-data events. The deployment also enables 8RX uplink technology for the first time and supports future AI-driven applications. Capital investments are reflected in AT&T's Q2 2026 outlook.
