Telangana tops India cybercrime performance review

On August 6, 2026, the India — Prime Minister s Office (India) conducted a PRAGATI review meeting to assess the implementation and performance of cybercrime initiatives across Indian states and union territories. India — Telangana was ranked first overall in the country based on nine parameters, including the establishment of the State Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (S4C), implementation of e-Zero FIR, utilization of the Grievance Redressal Mechanism (GRM), Money Restoration Module (MRM), Sahyog Portal, Samanvaya Portal, cybercrime hotspot management, capacity building of law enforcement officers, and public awareness. India — Telangana was commended for setting up the country's first S4C and effectively using the digital platforms developed by the India — Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the India — Ministry of External Affairs. The India — Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB), led by Director Shikha Goel, reported processing 2,086 of 2,368 grievance requests (88% action rate), restoring India — Indian rupee 16.42 crore through the MRM, removing 20,070 URLs via the Sahyog Portal, and completing 96.68% of interstate requests via the Samanvaya Portal. TGCSB also launched a dedicated helpline (8712665600) to assist citizens with GRM and MRM grievances.
