On August 6, 2026, India hosted the Tenth BRICS Industry Ministers' Meeting in Jaipur under its 2026 BRICS Chairship. The meeting, themed 'Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability,' brought together industry ministers and senior representatives from BRICS member countries. They adopted a Joint Declaration committing to deepen industrial cooperation, innovation, and sustainable development. Key outcomes included finalizing a Framework for Cooperation for the SME Working Group, adopting Terms of Reference and an Action Plan for the Photovoltaic Industry Working Group, and finalizing an Action Plan for innovation-led growth through startups. India also proposed a BRICS Incubator Network and a BRICS Startup Innovation Fund. The meeting emphasized resilient transport and logistics systems, including GIS-based infrastructure planning. Following the industry ministers' meeting, India hosted the 16th BRICS Trade Ministers' Meeting on August 7, chaired by Piyush Goyal. On the sidelines, Goyal held bilateral discussions with ministers from Brazil, Egypt, and South Africa, focusing on trade, investment, and cooperation in sectors like agriculture, energy, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and critical minerals, as well as advancing the India-SACU Preferential Trade Agreement.
